NADIA KHAN, MD, FRCPC

 

Dr. Nadia Khan is interim Head of General Internal Medicine and Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is a general internist at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC and is an American Hypertension Society Clinical Specialist in Hypertension. She is a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Career Scientist, and a clinician-scientist in health services research and epidemiology at the Center for Health Evaluation and Outcomes Sciences in Vancouver, Canada.

Dr. Khan is President of Hypertension Canada and a council member of the International Society of Hypertension. Her research area includes gender and ethnicity research on cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension epidemiology, and health services utilization including optimizing digital solutions to improve patient-centered care. She also contributes to the Hypertension Canada guidelines and the Diabetes Canada 2018 guidelines.

Nadia is an enthusiastic learner with a sense of compassion that is matched only by her intelligence. Her patients comment on her capacity to care and her wonderful listening skills. She is constantly striving to provide the best care for her patients and is a true advocate for the health of others.
